El Piloto has been crowned. The Austin Slot Car Club’s 2011 iroc series has come to an end; congratulations to Russell, for his consistency of top finishes: 3 first places, 5 second places and 7 fastest laps on a total of 10 races.
Marty, Brian, Jim and Russell were present for the 10th round of the series. Track and room temperatures were hovering below 100F; both tires and drivers were sticky

Heat #1 featured Jim on green lane, Marty on Blue and Russell on Yellow. The green McLaren seemed to be the fastest car but Russell took that heat’s fastest lap on Yellow. Jim finished first heat with 68 laps, Marty and Russell with 71 laps.
Heat #2 had Russell on green, Jim on blue and Brian on yellow. Russell and Jim finished the heat with 70, followed by Brian with 68. Jim had that heat’s fastest lap of 4.150 until the last lap when Russell beat his time by .003 of a second.
Heat #3; Brian on green, Russell on blue and Marty on yellow. Very close racing between Marty and Russell, in the end Marty finished with 72 laps, followed by Russell with 71 and Brian with 66.
Heat #4, the last and final heat of the series had Marty on green, Brian on blue and Jim on Yellow. Marty, without a mistake, turned 72 laps; Brian finished 69 laps and Jim 68.
Congratulations to all the participants. This was a fun series to manage; full of close racing and fast lap times.
