BYE BYE PROXY: pRoxy was a fun gal but we’re glad she’s gone! The 3rd round of the 2021 GT3 series had eight competitors, each racing their own car. Alejandro(Alex) was back from Cali and rev’ed up to run his colorful Austin Martin against Russ(Chap65), Dave(Butch), Randy(TA), Stephen(KeinMitleid), John(Lotus), Marty(917), Mark(Spyder). Brian(Bellator) showed up from Minneapolis, by way of his new home in Galveston 🙂 As a bonus – John (Lotus JR) shared with us real Indycar SWAG – a carbon-fibre wing from the 1993 Pagan racing – Interstate Batteries car – driven by Jeff Andretti – So Cool!

Dave reminded us that even after a long absence from our track, he is still a major force to reckon with. Likewise, after months of being proxy RaceControl, Stephen enjoyed sharing the podium again with consistent placer Marty. Russell’s C7R seemed to have many of the bugs worked out, as well as Randy’s Vette. John and Alejandro demonstrated their consistently strong tuning and driving skills.  Mark’s tire issues from Round-2 got resolved, but slippage from a loose drive/spur gear allen-screw put him solidly in DFL.

At 4-years old in Pensacola I repaired my steering linkage on my Ford Pedal-car. Dad later converted this car to a Blue Angel with ailerons and elevators with a working "stick/yoke"; the rudder was controlled by the steering wheel. I like all motorsports - I grew up going to a NASCAR Feeder track with Sportsman and Modified classes, and was lucky to attend drag races in 1970 at Orange County Raceway. My first solder-iron was a Christmas gift at 9yo; I modified T-Jets to be AFX spec before AFX Cars were in local stores. I rebuilt a few tractor & car (SIMCA) engines plus transmissions by 15yo (I still have my ring-compressor and valve spring tool) I am a former mountain and road bike geek & perennial sound engineer. Struggling guitar hobbyist and Amp "tweeker"
